Phoenix Therapy and Care provides bespoke support services to children and adults affected by illness, injury and disability. Our current Care Inspectorate rating is 'very good’ and we pride ourselves on person-centred, empowering and positive values.
This job role forms part of a brand new team, providing high quality care and support to an elderly lady in her own home. Having been very independent, our service user’s mobility has deteriorated and she is now reliant upon a rollator frame indoors. She requires accompaniment and constant supervision on outings, depending on a wheelchair when outdoors. Her health is relatively good and she communicates openly. She has short term memory loss and understandably repeats things.
Our aim is to provide daily support and companionship. The job will involve assisting our service user with household duties, arranging and escorting her on outings, helping with shopping and cooking, providing personal care if necessary and facilitating hobbies and interests.
We are looking for Support Workers who have an insight into working in the family home and the ability to adapt to this unique working environment. Are you compassionate, patient, friendly and empathetic? Are you the kind of person who wants to add real value to someone’s life? Do you have excellent communication skills, tact and diplomacy? If this sounds like you, we can offer you an interesting opportunity.
Enquiries welcome from those with a holistic approach to care and strive for positive outcomes. A driving licence is essential (auto gearbox) to drive our service users car. At our service users request, the job is open to female applicants only.
We offer you:
* work with specific Service User
* permanent contract of either 14 or 21 hours per week
* paid training
* full induction training programme, and ongoing training and supervision
* support of a dedicated Nurse Care Manage
* employee assistance helpline
* free PVG checks
* stakeholder pension scheme
Please contact us for more information about our service user and full details of the job. We look forward to hearing from you
