A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our client (based near Wolverhampton) who are a dynamic Freight Forwarding company who are looking for an experienced Traffic Planner/ Transport Manager to join them (ideally with National / International CPC).

This is a hands-on role so along with Managerial duties, they need someone who is also a proficient Route Planner. Great career prospects for the right candidate in a dynamic and well established business.

Essential Skills:

• Transport Management experience;

• Holder of National / International CPC in Transport ( preferred);

• Experience of planning artic & rigid vehicles across the UK;

• Compliance & tachograph knowledge essential;

• Previous experience within a fast paced transport planning position;

• Strong customer service skills;

• Ability to work under pressure, and a flexible approach;

• Competent decision making;

• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning vehicles for multi drop deliveries & collections across the UK;

• Allocating same day collections as orders are processed;

• Monitoring driver performance;

• Debriefing drivers at the end of shift;

• Keep all customers / customs informed of all failed services or significant delays;

• Supervising and managing driver workloads;

• Costing vehicle runs on a daily basis;

• Ensuring all drivers & vehicles are legally compliant;

• Dealing with sub-contractors when required to cover collections / deliveries.

Excellent salary of £26-32k, plus other benefits. Working days only (Mon to Fri).
