Jark Bradford Ltd Technical & Engineering Recruitment Division are currently recruiting on behalf of our client Bradford Metropolitan District Council for HGV / LGV Mechanic, Vehicle Technician on Nights.
This is initially a long term temporary role however for the right applicant a permanent contract may be offered.
Fleet Services provide the management and maintenance of the authority’s fleet of over 1600 vehicles and plant machinery you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, inspecting, servicing and repairing the Council’s fleet of light commercial, heavy goods and specialist municipal vehicles in accordance with the statutory regulations and Council policy.
A high degree of manual dexterity is required for this post along with the ability to communicate in both written and oral technical language as you will report defects revealed or observed during the repair process.
City and Guilds 383 Level 2 (Heavy vehicle) or 3300 Level 3 (Heavy vehicle) certificate or equivalent is required, along with completion of an approved Apprenticeship or recognised training scheme externally tested and validated.
It is essential that you have had a significant period of recent continuous employment In a HGV commercial repair / service environment.

To work 38 hours a week working hours are
Monday to Thursday 2pm to 6:15am Fridays 6.30pm to 2am
Pay rate £17.28 per hour this includes night shift allowance
In addition you will accrue holiday pay, holidays are 28 days including 8 days statutory days, increasing by 5 days after 5 years’ of service.
