Our client is looking for an Imports/Exports Specialist

Description
* Coordinates the shipping process for national and international shipments (customer orders, project orders, mould tools to be serviced, materials for Quality and R&D) * Contacts carriers to schedule pick up for national and international orders and provides carrier pick-up scheduling information to Warehouse to ensure freight readiness * Effectively communicates delays, backorders, and expected availability * As necessary, provides information to internal and external customers as requested by the relevant departments (Planning, Quality, RD) * Prepares and provides legally compliant export documentation for international shipments and coordinates all associated paperwork through to filing * Prepares commercial invoices, unless provided by the service groups. Reviews the latter for accuracy and compliance * Assists with the preparation of commercial invoices when required * Maintains required filing of copies of international shipping documentation * Maintains the assignment of commodity codes and countries of origins for UK exports/imports * Collects and maintains accurate information on product classifications, vendor classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determinations, commodity codes, product valuation reporting, and export license applications. * Remains current with changing international shipping regulations * Supports with implementation and maintenance of international trade compliance regulations, policies, procedures, compliance programs, training, licensing and import/export audit programs * Helps to create and maintain procedures necessary to remain in compliance with UK Customs legal requirements * Evaluates, recommends, and assists in the implementation of duty drawback and other cost saving programs * Provides technical guidance on regulatory matters and advises functional groups of updates to the regulations and issues guidance on how to comply with them * Being the Customs contact person for customs subjects and audits * Supports on inquiries for invoicing of special devices to ensure a smooth international shipping
