As an Accountant you will be given the opportunity to create and innovate. What that means on a day to day basis is interacting with various departments across the company to ensure all processes are understood and supported.
Client Details
The client is based close to Newport and is easily accessible by car from Cardiff, Newport Valleys, Chepstow and Bristol. The client provides innovative home improvement products across the UK and the globe, as a consequence they have seen record growth due to covid. This role is initially working from home and then you will be in the office 3/4 days a week.
Description
As a Accountant you would be involved in:
Prepare and post journals as part of the Company's month end financial close process.
Support the Accounting team by performing detailed reconciliation and analysis work.
Prepare cost centre reports, detailing actual performance vs Business Plan and Latest Forecast.
Follow up with individuals across the business on key business topics.
Support Management Accountant in the analysis and presentation of Sales and Margin information.
Review daily sales data and follow-up on irregularities.
Assist with the review and resolution of customer pricing queries. Issue credit notes when appropriate.
Support Financial Accountant in the preparation of monthly VAT returns.
Prepare information for Board Meetings and Business Reviews.
Assist auditors with information requests.
Any other duties assigned by the Management Accountant.
Profile
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
Experience of management and financial accounting and reporting
Experience of working in a busy environment, providing accounting/reporting services to tight deadlines
Worked independently to prepare monthly reports and analysis
Competent using ERP systems such as Oracle/SAP or Sage
