We are currently recruiting for a Quality Auditor at our site based in Brackley.
We are a leading supplier of Poultry products into an impressive range of customers in the UK retail and food service sectors. With ambitious plans for the future, there hasn’t been a more exciting time to join us. 
 
We’re currently investing £11m in our factory and facilities, installing state-of-the-art technologies including new conveyors and automated handling systems, making the site one of the most advanced poultry processing plants in Europe.

Purpose of the role
To be responsible for the auditing of all packing, despatch and stores activities to ensure product safety/quality/legality/sustainability through effective welfare procedures, HACCP and quality systems. To support the management and continuous improvement of packing, despatch and stores areas and the employees working in them. To ensure products meet and exceed customer expectations. To be a representative of the Avara Foods Food Safety, Quality, Welfare and People proposition
Your key responsibilities will include:

Ensure information is treated as confidential
Other duties within the general scope of the post may be required from time to time
The duties of the post and job description will be regularly reviewed by the line manager
To put our people and product at the forefront of what we do and how we do it
To promote and support the continuous improvement of a positive food safety and quality culture
To understand and adhere to food safety/quality standards, policies and procedures, ensuring the safe, ethical and legal production of food
To comply with and promote Avara policies and procedures
Participate and promote the Avara vision and values
To promote, understand and adhere to health & safety procedures, encouraging safe work behaviours
To provide technical support to production to ensure the product is consistently produced to the agreed quality standard and specification
Integral to the packing, despatch and stores teams operating effectively and appropriately by effectively disseminating and auditing food safety/quality/legal requirements
To monitor, challenge assumption and to continually develop the function ensuring good custom and practice in food safety, quality, legality, GMP, hygiene and maintenance
To effectively problem solve to root cause when product or processes deviate from the agreed standard
Assist in the training and assessment of competency of all those involved in critical food safety, quality, legal and hygiene processes/checks
Maintain good customer facing skills
Verify the procedures detailed within the Quality Management System and HACCP manual are in place and actively adhered to
Play a key role in audits by customers and external bodies
Complete internal audits as part of the schedule
Monitor and make recommendations regarding the pest control system to ensure Company and Legislative requirements are met
Carry out effective product and hygiene tests, recording data and ensuring corrective action is taken
Carry out value adding assessments of product quality
Participate in improvements to processes and be motivated in implementing new products and initiatives
Support with role of Primary Quality Auditor and Quality Systems Administrator when required
Ensure all paperwork is completed fully, legibly and accurately to ensure due diligence
Responsible for ensuring that all new starters to the role are trained and developed appropriately against approved training plans
Escalate issues in a timely mannerWhat we are looking for:

Excellent communication skills along with strong literacy and numeracy skills
Awareness of quality and Health& Safety
You will be reliable and have the ability to form good working relationships
High attention to detail and accuracy
Highly motivated and eager to learnWorking hours are:
Week 1 – Monday to Friday, Monday 05:30-14:45, Friday 05:30-14:30
Week 2 –Monday to Friday, Monday 06:45-16:00, Friday 07:00-16:00
Week 3 –Monday to Friday, Monday 08:45-18:00, Friday 09:00-18:00
