Job Details
Estimating Surveyor
Slough
£DOE + Package
My client is a market leading refurbishment company who operate across the residential and commercial sectors and pride themselves on their reputation for quality workmanship.
Due to continued growth they are searching for an experienced Estimating Surveyor to join their commercial team to be based from their Aldershot office with frequent site visits.
In essence, the surveyors role is to visit all jobs required to fully evaluate the project in hand and to gain an Initial overview of the contract, in addition to taking relevant measurements for the estimator to price
Relay details to his contract manager of potential concerns / issues / positive aspects / client expectations / standards required / start and mobilisation requirements
The measures should be noted in a methodical fashion to allow other parties to follow the sequence should that be required.
Programme of work should be created in collaboration with contract manager and shared regularly with the client
Financial issues:
Principally the surveyor / project manager shall ensure comprehensive management of all financial aspects of the contract under his remit
Ensure pre-start that they communicate clearly identified objectives that are project specific to the whole team, assisting with successful service delivery.
In collaborating with the client, the surveyor should discuss available budget, cost options, projected values and cashflow forecast.
Advise client on longer lifecycle and value engineering - where cost savings can be made
Agree payment mechanisms and various options.
Submit regular valuation reports to allow the team to monitor spend.
Carry out annual exercise to demonstrate best value to the client (may involve KPI report)
The surveyor must stay on top of variations and communicate all to the project team - ensure they are captured.
Collaborate daily with the contract manager to ensure all works are in line with schedule and that the client is invoiced for only works completed to full satisfaction, without defects.
