Manpower are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a Senior Design Engineer to join their Contracting business in Slough

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours per week | Flexible Working Patterns Available

What is the Role?

As Design Engineer you'll be expected to ensure that the company follow, adhere and enforce the engineering requirements for our projects. You'll be required to work closely with the work winning teams in Business Development, Bid Support and Estimating in order to lead cost effective & competitive solutions for the company; based on the understanding of their operational, financial and environmental drivers. This will be a hybrid role, primarily design management with aspects of Bid/Pre-construction Management, as such you'll possess the strategic and creative insight to understand the full range of opportunities contained within invitations to tender (ITT) and be willing to challenge the norm.

Your main duties will be to; establish the design appointments, design programme and design deliverables schedules, technical submittals, drawings approvals process and design repository portal as part of the pre-construction process for hand over to the Business Verticals to take ownership during delivery phase, including establishing the commissioning strategy and end-out process. You will also be expected to produce elements of the design to improve the SSE offering and where design gaps have been established.

What Do I Need?

To be successful in this role, you'll need extensive experience in High Voltage networks DNO networks, working in design management, consultant engineering or related field, with appropriate professional qualification. You'll have a thorough understanding of BSRIA BG 6 design deliverables pro-forma documentation, CDM 2015 and Residual Risk experience and 2D and 3D CAD, e.g. AutoCAD, Revit. Conversant in BIM principals and PAS 1192 (BIM Level 2).

A strong background in DNO design and application is vital to this role.

We will also be looking for you to have experience of computer assisted M&E and HV design software such as Amtech, ERACS, ETAP etc. You'll also be comfortable with the use of Document Management Portals, such as ASite, Conject, Aconex and leading, promoting and enforcing the use of these portals and have fundamental knowledge of Building Regulations and Energy Conservation Technologies. Finally, you'll have a full UK driving licence as you may be required to drive to different locations
