As the BI developer, you will be responsible for the redesign and ongoing enhancement of the Driving School data capability. You will be required to implement and consistently improve upon the end-to-end solution for all levels of the data architecture, from the ETL abstraction layer through to the semantic data models and end user reports. The role is predominantly hands on. However, is a requirement to support the ongoing development of junior members of the team.
What will I be doing?
* Working with the BI manager, contribute to the design and planning process for the new data warehouse and semantic data models, providing estimates on delivery timescales
* Provide timely updates to the BI manager on initial and ongoing delivery, progress, slippage, risks, issues and quality such as peer reviews
* Share lessons learned providing feedback as required
* Design new or continuously improve / optimise BI solutions, taking into account end user feedback
* Provide post implementation and ongoing support to end users to ensure the BI solution is fit for purpose and successfully imbedded
* Collaborate with colleagues both internal and external to strengthen BI solution delivery, with an initial focus on implementing data models for sales attribution and customer LTV
* Implement an ETL abstraction layer responsible for consumption of data from multiple sources both internal and external; ensuring robust data sanitation processes are in pace
* Comprehensive documentation on both the data warehouse and business logic utilised in semantic data models
* Support Junior team members through sharing knowledge and experience
Education and Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent experience
* Strong business experience and knowledge in BI design and methodologies
Personal Characteristics:
* Motivated, self-learner who can work with a degree of autonomy when needed
* Enjoys working with agile methodologies
* Ability to manage workload across multiple workstreams and deliverables
* Planning horizon 0-6 months, personal utilisation / availability 4-6 weeks
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to think latterly and see connections between behaviours and trends in business information alongside ongoing operational and strategic objectives
* Strong analytical problems skills and able to comfortably multitask
