Job title: Finance Officer
Location: Nottingham, NG2
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Ongoing temporary until March 2021
Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday, 09:00am - 05:00pm
Job Purpose
*Deliver specific tasks within the directorate service plan ensuring a culture of value for money and efficiency across the business which focuses on achieving objectives to an agreed standard and within an appropriate level of resources.
*Ensure that all cost centre managers and budget holders are aware of the Financial Regulations and to provide advice on procedures required to satisfy the regulations where required.
*Increase and improve the level of financial awareness in the business to ensure a broader understanding of what drives costs and how resources can be focused towards delivering improved customer service.
*Provide professional support to ensure decision making is informed and based on grounded value cases. Ensure that proposals are considered holistically and challenge those which do not deliver performance improvements in line with
Company's plans.
*Review monthly management accounts with each cost centre manager/budget holder on a timely basis identifying opportunities for making more effective use of resources. To respond professionally and effectively to requests and queries raised, during discussion at the meetings. Review feedback and implement changes as required to deliver continuous improvement.
*Deliver monthly management accounts reports and commentaries which are insightful, informative, accurate and timely. To identify the implications of variances against the budget and plans.
Candidate Profile
*AAT Qualified
*Experience of implementing and maintaining financial controls across the broader business
*Experience of assimilating complex information and reporting on its implications
*Experience of managing projects using standard methodology to track and deliver results
*Experience of preparing, monitoring and controlling budgets
*Experience of developing services to achieve and maintain top quality performance in service delivery, within a Value for Money framework
