We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Pathway Lead for our Retail and Horticulture curriculum pathways. You will be responsible for the management, quality assurance and ongoing improvement of the Horticulture and Retail pathways including management of staff and resources and responsibility for student progress.

Key Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Operational management of Pathways including staff and resources
  • Key aspects of quality assurance across Pathways in liaison with Curriculum Manager  e.g. Self -Assessment Report, Quality Improvement Plan and compliance audits
  • Co-ordination of individual student programmes including timetabling, assessment, setting and reviewing appropriate targets, timely progress reporting and provision of IAG according to programme type in liaison with Curriculum Manager.
  • Chairing student reviews
  • Contribution to curriculum development to ensure that Pathway Strands remain relevant and challenging including fostering effective partnerships e.g. Industry Champion / Competition activity
  • Staff development including observation, appraisal and provision of support and training
  • Teaching commitment including the embedding of functional skills
  • Contribution to cross-college team meetings
  • Member of cross-college observation team
  • Personal Tutor
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested

  • Teaching qualification / Specialist Qualification
  • Subject specific qualification
  • IQA
  • Assessor
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Proven success of working within a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of Ofsted framework / external auditors
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects
  • Highly motivated individual
  • Works effectively with individuals/staff at all levels
  • Approachable and engaging personal style
  • Competent in MS Office
