Finance Assistant – 30 hours per week

Salary - £22,000 - £24,000 pro rata

The role

We are currently seeking to appoint a part time Finance Assistant working 30 hours per week. We can be flexible with the working pattern which can be negotiated with the successful candidate. The role will contribute to and oversee all administrative financial tasks, with a particular responsibility to assist the Finance and Compliance Director as well as reporting to the Directors.

Ideally we would like the successful candidate to start 4th January 2021.

The ideal candidate will like a challenge and will want to really get stuck in and make this role their own.

It is essential that the successful candidate has previous demonstrable experience working in a finance administrative role, and specifically:

  • has a good standard of education, ideally having a recognised accountancy qualification such as AAT but this is not essential
  • has significant experience of maintaining a complete set of computerised account ledgers (Xero or other cloud based software)
  • has significant experience of Bank Reconciliations and Credit Control
  • having experience in VAT reconciliation, MTD VAT submission would be an advantage.
  • has experience in both import and export
  • has experience with cash flows
  • having experience in preparing monthly management accounts would be advantageous.
  • is proficient in Microsoft Packages
  • has the ability to incorporate legislation and related guidance into everyday practice
  • has the ability to maintain high standards of written and electronic records as well as having excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and engage effectively with people from a wide variety of social and ethnic backgrounds
  • has an excellent telephone manner
  • has excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage an agreed workload
  • be able to handle sensitive and confidential data in an appropriate manner
  • Able to adopt a flexible approach to the needs of the company
