Job Details

Assembly Technician required on a contract basis to join an industry leading manufacturing business.

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in a busy manufacturing environment? Do you have a background in the assembly of components and systems? Have you got experience of working on both mechanical and electrical assembly? If you are seeking an exciting challenge then this is the role for you!

As an assembly technician you will play a key role in a team of experienced technicians that are responsible for achieving the required daily build targets> The role will be spilt 75% mechanical assembly and 25% electrical assembly.

This role will operating on a rotating shift pattern: 6am - 2:30pm then 2:30pm to 11pm Monday to Friday. You must be willing and able to work this rotating shift pattern.

The role:

To carry out assembly operations (following suitable training) on a variety of electro-mechanical equipment.
Assembly of mechanical components using multiple fixing methods and standard and specialist tooling eg. torque drivers, air drivers, bespoke test equipment
Skilled use of hand and power tools within assembly processes
Wiring connections and the use of crimp tools
Soldering using electrical soldering equipment
Drilling and tapping holes using power and manual tools
Carry out tests in accordance with manufacturing instructions following suitable training
To be flexible and work in all areas of the business including stores, service pick/pack/despatch and peroxide filling and bottling.
To work in a safe, clean and customer-focused approach.Through this role, the successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to take part in, and have significant impact on the end-to-end assembly of components and systems. This gives employees true product ownership and the opportunity to see their products through to finished product.

Essential experience:

Physically fit to carry out manual assembly operations including lifting, kneeling, bending , standing for long periods
Good manual dexterity
Good eyesight (with spectacles if worn) and colour vision
To be driven by quality and customer satisfaction
To work well as part of a close team as well as be individually motivated
Have a good understanding of assembly principles and have work experience in a similar environment.
Previous experience in using hand and power tools within assembly processes
Experience of wiring connections and the use of crimp tools
Soldering using electrical soldering equipment
Drilling and tapping holes using power and manual toolsEducation & Training:

Ability to read technical drawings & work instructions
Good standard of secondary education to GSCE level
