Purchasing Manager
Andover
Permanent
Salary £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
Hours 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday (these could be flexible)
Our client is looking for a Purchasing Manager, who will manage the supply chain and purchasing activities of the business, consistently striving to achieve on time delivery to cost for products.
The responsibilities will include:
Making supply orders
Communicating with different companies to see if a better price is available somewhere else or if suppliers in a certain area are not living up to expectations
Communicating with executives to gain approval for purchasing contracts with new vendors or on new supplies
Continuously comparison and negotiating to make sure the company gets the best possible prices on needed supplies
Oversees supply chain management
Communicating with suppliers and to make sure supplies get where they need to be when they need to be, even when a deadline is tight
Maintaining a network of professional contacts in order to discover new opportunities for good deals on orders
Forecasting demand for certain products and makes orders accordingly
Checks inventory, tracks how inventory is used, and adjusts purchasing habits in accord with apparent trends
Attends meetings to stay up to date on the company's objectivesThe successful candidate will require the following skills:
Highly organised, Team Leader, excellent negotiation skills, multitasking ability, excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of people.
