Are you an experienced Accountant looking to join a growing team for a client based in Reading? This organisation operates in a highly regulated and increasingly competitive environment and your role is to ensure that you gather, compile, analyse and recommend on the financial strategy for the businesses, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and create value for now and in the future.

You will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager to provide the accurate and timely execution of general accounting, period end closing, reporting activities and delivery of reporting information to the wider Finance community in line with defined reporting protocols. Preparation of month end journals applying knowledge of financial and management accounting. Preparation of monthly Management Accounts of multiple entities with variance analysis.

BS account reconciliations using judgement to highlight and investigate key and unexpected variances providing supporting commentary when required and support the Finance Manager in projects when they arise. Identify and action process improvement initiatives and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Qualified with a professional accounting body (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA).

- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.

- Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures.

- Awareness of current regulations including IFRS / New UK GAAP and Companies Acts an advantage.

- Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly Excel).

- Knowledge of equivalent systems, processes and workflow technology.

- In depth knowledge of ERP software (Oracle desirable).

- Must be able to work independently, target focused and result driven, strong ability to bring about change, driven with a hands-on approach and develops an atmosphere of confidence, respect, and trust, acts as a role model within the team, strong service and customer orientation.
