The Role
The role is for a CNC Machine Shop Supervisor - this would be a brilliant opportunity for a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist looking to advance into management. Working in a clean and modern engineering environment for a world class manufacturing company who specialize in components for the aerospace, motorsport & defence industries. You will be responsible for organizing and overseeing the running of multiple machines simultaneously whilst minimizing NCR's & machine down time. The majority of the machines on the shop floor are 3 and 5 axis turning and milling machines. Our client run off HyperMill to programme offline - experience in these machines & softwares would be advantageous. You will also be responsible for the MAN management of a medium sized team of skilled CNC Machinists & shop floor staff - previous experience in a management or team leader capacity is preferable.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role will have the following attributes; You will have exposure in a similar position and must come from a CNC machining/programming background with experience on 3 and 5 axis machining centres & lathes.
Maintaining and implementing/revising machine maintenance schedules.
Liaising with and managing engineering staff to ensure that quotes are accurate and that they reflect machine run times - focus on materials and capacity.
Directly reporting to the Production Manager with weekly updates in relation to machine shop & staff performance against KPI's.
The main aspect of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the CNC machine shop. This will consist of staff management & also hands-on operating/programming/offline programming of CNC machines - 3 to 5 axis milling & turning machines.
You will be a key contact in the business and will be responsible for the recruitment for your team, staff workload, holidays, attendance & overtime.
