Cyber Analyst

6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Working in the Cyber Security team you will provide a technical lead for Cyber security support calls from users and ICT staff. You will identify and make recommendations for continuous improvement of Cyber security.

The role also includes diagnosing, investigations, cyber incidents, remediation and maintaining confidentiality, integrity and availability of ICT services. You will;

• Take responsibility for incidents and requests within the team's scope, using experience and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve in a timely and efficient manner.

• Engage in clear communications with staff to manage and resolve incidents, remediation and exception management. Use Defender and ATP to investigate and resolve hardware and/or software security incidents.

• Maintain a strong relationship with the ICT Service Desk to share 2nd line expertise, and peers in other operational teams to develop a robust problem management team, working closely to investigate ongoing issues.

• Collaborate with the ICT Infrastructure team to support and recommend security configurations.

The Cyber Specialist's Key Accountabilities:

• Assist in analysis of complex, often conflicting information that requires daily problem solving to ensure ICT risks are closed or mitigated quickly and security incidents managed.

• Assist in security investigations, reporting findings to the ICT security board including policy breaches and advice on any consequential management action.

• Assist complex analysis of security threat, using tools from within the Microsoft suit, commissioning work from ICT operational teams and analysing data and trends to decide on appropriate mitigation or escalation as appropriate.

• Assist in critically reviewing ICT security arrangements of ICT contracts with third parties, including third party access to live environments from technical partners providing development resource.

Key Requirements:

A high level of technical expertise and skills including detailed knowledge of desktop technology and holding the following certifications/qualifications or be working towards them:

• ITIL Foundation certified.

• Degree in ICT or demonstrate ICT Security training with a recognised provider including CompTIA, ISACA, ISC.

Good verbal and written communication skills, comfortable and confident in dealing with challenging situations/individuals and a clear commitment to delivering excellent customer service and user's experience. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and build relationships.

Ability to analyse complex technical issues and be familiar with the following;

• Governance frameworks including ITIL and Cyber Essentials Scheme

• Nessus, Office 365, ATP, Microsoft Azure Security

• ITIL framework, and risk frameworks like Cyber Essentials

Ability to work calmly under pressure, to proactively plan and co-ordinate resources in order to achieve results within agreed timescales and with a flexible approach to working, prioritising as and when high priority problems and requests arrive at the ICT Service Desk
