The Role
We are looking for a Driver/Support Worker to join us at our St Agnells service in Hemel Hempstead, where we support up to 8 individuals with physical and learning disabilities. We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve.
You will need to be flexible as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and potentially sleep ins. You will be responsible for driving the Service Users to various activities, day centres and appointments using the service minibus.
Due to the nature of this role and for insurance purposes, candidates must be a minimum of 21 years’ old and have held a driving licence for at least 2 years’ to include a D1 Category.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.
To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.
To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.
To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.
* Responsible for driving Service Users to various activities, day centres and appointments.
