Job Type: Various Roles –Full Time, Part Time and Unlimited Bank Available
Various hours up to: 37.5 hrs per week and more.
Summary
The Thomas More Project is a charitable organisation supporting people with learning difficulties. Support is provided by The Thomas More Project to three individuals living within a shared home and eleven adults with learning difficulties in a relaxed and friendly residential care home. Staff work across both services, but tend to focus on one service or the other. The balance of care/ support depends on the service and needs of the individual. We will be flexible for great candidates who wish to combine work with other commitments.

Job Description & Responsibilities • To provide high quality support and care, including personal care to people living in our care home, supporting them to live a fulfilling life as independently as possible in the community. • To provide high quality support to individuals in their own home based on assessed need, person-centered plans, risk assessments and housing related support that meet the requirements of the tenants in our (Supported Living) accommodation. • You will be required to be flexible and work at both locations from time to time the locations are a mile apart and commutable by car or foot. • Completing of required paperwork on shift to ensure effective communication between shifts and staff members. • Supporting residents with daily life skills, such as laundry, bed making, preparing meals and drinks in the kitchen. • Carry out regular checks around the home at intervals determined by the Home Manager and with due regard for clients’ privacy. • Answer emergency alarms, assess the situation, deal with the client seeking help • Assist care users preparing for bed and waking in the morning as directed
• In the time available between attending to care users, undertake domestic duties primarily in the fields of laundry and ironing, food preparation or cleaning as directed • Read and write reports in case notes and any other documentation instructed • Carry out other reasonable duties as may be required • Maintain a thorough handover at the start/end of each shift
Experience Required • The individual ideally must have completed a Care Certificate or NVQ2 • The individual ideally must have a minimum of 12 months experience in the care sector • The individual ideally must be able to use their own initiative at all times and be a real team player with a can do attitude
