The Role
We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve. To help them achieve this you will need to be flexible as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and potential sleep ins.

Main duties and responsibilities:
To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.
To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.
To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.
To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.
The Service
Yewdale Farm is a very unique service which oozes fun and personality! Set within 14 acres of farmland (don’t forget your wellies), their pets include; rabbits, sheep, geese, ducks, dogs and we mustn’t forget the lizard!
The staffing team at Yewdale Farm support 9 gentlemen, aged between 47 – 62, who have learning and physical disabilities, autism, epilepsy and some challenging behaviour.
The service users here are incredibly active, and really enjoy their environment; taking care of the animals, horticulture, picnics, picking fruit from their orchards, kite flying, arts and crafts, computer courses and also cookery. Quite often they enjoy strolling to their local village to visit the auctions, team rooms and make use of their local conveniences.
Personal Characteristics
Diploma in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one.
Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
The ability to keep calm under pressure.
The confidence to work alone or as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills
The passion to work with vulnerable adults
The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
