Our client in Shrewsbury has a fantastic opportunity for an Admin Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis, with an immediate start.

It is a full-time role, Monday-Friday 09.00-17.00. Paying £9.74 per hour.

Duties:

* Coordinate the printing and distribution of bus stop publicity material, such as timetable inserts

* Record and collate reports from drivers regarding the condition of each stop and inform relevant departments of any work that needs to be undertaken at each stop.

* Assist in answering phone calls on a wide range of topics across the Passenger Transport Group, providing customers with either an answer to their enquiries or assisting in find the right member of staff to help.

* Maintain the ONE pupil data base as an up to date and accurate record of all school transport provision

* Notify team members of any updates to contracts, timetables and costs recorded on the ONE system

* Deal sensitively with queries from schools, parents, members of the public and other council associated individuals.

* Arrange appropriate storage of all recorded information and retrieve as and when required

* Undertake general office duties such as post handling, filing, photocopying.

* Maintain the Contracts database on behalf of the contracts team.

* Chase and collate contracts, ensuring transport operators return contracts by the allocated due date and communicate with Shropshire Council’s legal department as to when the finalised contract will be signed off.

* Assist the team by contacting transport operators by phone and email. Transport Operators have their own drivers and passenger assistants working for them and it is vital that their Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is up to date. You will assist the team in ensuring all information is up to date and recorded appropriately.

* Assist the team by collating contact details of operators and distributing them around the department, keeping an up to date record.

* Provide administration support for the contracts team on a day to day basis, whilst taking direction from the Contracts Officer (South)

Required:

* Excellent Admin skills

* Experience in a similar role

* Computer literate

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
