We are currently looking for a Qualified Social Worker - Support to Foster Carers Team to work with one of our clients based in Blackpool. You will be working for the council.

Monday - Friday 

Shift Times may vary

Pay rates paying £35 ph

Job Purpose

A vacancy has arisen on the Support to Foster Carers team. The role of the fostering team social worker is to assist the foster carer in their task of providing care to a child in care which will improve the child’s well being and life chances by promoting the individual outcomes for children. You will that ensure the foster carer has access to adequate social work and other professional support, information and advice, to enable the foster carer to provide consistent, high quality care for a child or young person placed in their home. Your relationship with the foster carer should be within professional boundaries and with a clear understanding you’re your primary responsibility is to the child in placement. You will ensure that the child is seen and their individual needs are reflected in support for the carers professional development .

Key Responsibilites

Provide customised and focused Social Work support to foster carers and/or adopters to ensure they provide a safe and secure environment for children/young people placed
Undertake appropriate Social Work assessments in line with the needs of the service users
Adhere at all times to relevant Safeguarding procedures and immediately reporting child protection concerns internally in line with all policy and when appropriate to external bodies
Maintain accurate case recording at all times 
Completion of Form F assessments
Partake in the Duty System
Attend relevant multi agency meetings such as LAC reviews
Representing the organisation at internal and external meetings
Producing qualitative reports to be shared with relevant external agencies (e.g. Court, Local Authority/Trust, regulatory bodies)
Partake in participation and consultation events with carers, children & young people
