The Supply Chain team is responsible for ensuring we act as "one" to meet demand, drive the opportunities to maximise our synergies, prioritising how we spend capital for the good of the business and enabling effective and efficient local operational management of supply and service.

The role of the UK & Ireland Project Engineer is a key role within the Project Investment Planning & Implementation Team for the UK & Ireland. The role will be responsible for all aspects of delivery of full lifecycle project engineering for capital projects, from concept to delivery.

It is imperative that we manage investment with rigour and discipline to ensure that cost, time to deliver, Engineering quality and risk are all effectively controlled. We encourage significant standardisation and optimisation of our project processes, systems, resources and outputs to reduce complexity and maximise the return our investment. This role will adopt these principles when delivering capital projects for all sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic Project Engineering professional to drive standards of excellence in Engineering Project Management. This high-profile regional position will require interaction and collaboration with colleagues across the business to deliver capital projects. Key stakeholders include PIMs, Factory General Managers, Site Engineering Managers, R&D and other functional teams across the business. This requires a solid track record of Engineering Project Delivery.

Key Role Requirements

Engineering Technical Excellence
A drive to ensure optimal capital spend, time and robust solution delivery on all capital projects.
Biscuit Industry Specific Skills i.e. experience in production line design, procurement, installation and commissioning, automations sytsems, factory & office buildings, build in the innovation coming in ‐ proposing ideas
Would work very closely with factory teams to deliver their investment plan
Strong project management skills

Key projects at the outset of this role

Take control and ownership of the delivery of key projects including budget time plan and technical solution
Review, update key Project delivery tools and templates. Including the integration of these tools into Projects.
Build understanding of UK manufacturing capability.

Key accountabilities & deliverables

Reports to the UK's Projects and Investments Manager (PIM)
Manage the delivery of various capital projects throughout the UK ensuring the complexity, cost, time‐constraints are fully understood and managed.
Continually monitor progress to ensure meeting of specific deadlines.
Responsible for all stages of projects from development through to delivery. including, URS creation, tendering and supplier selection, resource, time and cost management, Control of contractors with CDM, Contract management, FAT, SAT and formal handback and project closure.
Support project development through Engineering capability as part of full Lifecyle project delivery in the capability function.
Ensure projects are delivered to a high quality of engineering and technical standard and drive world class specification and standard use throughout the capability team
Flawless management of changes to the scope and schedule of the project.
Lead project update meetings, and document project status and issues.
Appraise senior managers and of project status, issues and concerns.
Actively pursue issue resolution and communicate project status/issues to business stakeholders and operational management.
Possess a robust knowledge of most technical and business resources and use them to effectively deliver key projects.
Provide the necessary supporting documentation for the business to evaluate, prioritise and determine the cost effectiveness of initiatives.

Skills & Experience

Required:

3-5 years active experience at professional level in engineering preferred.
Experience delivering engineering projects in project engineering position.
Proven capability within a Blue-Chip Organisation.
Hands on user experience of Autocad.
Strong Project Management skills.
Strong engineering thinking.

Qualifications Required Essential Criteria Desirable criteria:

BSc ‐ Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Process or similar)
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Project Management certification, e.g. Prince2., is preferred.
