Part time Outreach Consultant, Charity based in Ripley, Derbyshire, salary circa £7800 part time

The Company:

The Charity provides practical help, information and support to the Hearing-Impaired community, to enable them to enjoy the highest quality of life possible. The Charity do this through the provision of; information, advice, support, advocacy, social activities, outreach activities, assistive listening devices, hearing loops and volunteering opportunities in Amber Valley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, High Peak, North East Derbyshire and South Derbyshire.

We are now looking for an Outreach Consultant to join our growing team, to liaise with the Service Manager and Senior Outreach Consultant to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of the service.

Due to the post having access to children/vulnerable adults the successful candidate will be required to undertake disclosure and barring service checks. This is a part time position, working flexibly 3 days per week.

Outreach Consultant Main Duties:

  • Traveling to and managing Outreach Bases, events and home visits.
  • Liaising with the Service Manager and Senior Outreach Consultant, Outreach base staff and event staff.
  • Promoting the service through the, display and distribution of promotional materials.
  • Ensuring assessment equipment is clean, in working order and up to date and effectively demonstrating the types of equipment offered.
  • Attending and facilitating peer support group activities and attending meetings and events to network with other agencies and deliver presentations.
  • Undertaking initial assessments of service users’ needs.
  • Producing, maintaining and updating the service user running records.
  • Meeting set targets to achieve KPI’s.
  • Attending training for personal and professional development.
  • Liaising with management team to ensure all information given is clear, precise and up to date.
  • Participating in fundraising activities for the Charity.
  • Supporting the organisation with ad-hoc duties and projects and carrying out any other duties as required.

Outreach Consultant Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role / comparable role is preferable but not essential as full training will provided.
  • Previous experience in the charity sector is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence, preferably clean, and access to own vehicle.
  • Flexibility required to ensure staff are covered during absence and holidays.
  • Excellent and clear communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Computer literate with confidence to learn new software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work in a team and be an effective team player.
