PHP / APPLICATION DEVELOPER

Full Time / Permanent – 40 hours per week

Servicecare Support Services Limited, a division of Clipper Logistics plc, is the UK’s leading B2B and consumer electronics repair, refurbishment and return-to-market, service company.  The business is based upon supporting major manufacturers and retailers who need to maximise revenue from returned customer purchases.

The good news is that our continued success and business growth has opened up a rare opportunity to join a small dynamic team in the development of the Service Management System.

Reporting to the IT and Project Manager, the role will include liaising with colleagues to understand requirements and then programming using PHP, SQL, JavaScript and jQuery to further develop processes and support system changes to facilitate a fast growing and changing company.

The development road map includes new, uncharted and challenging functions to code. We want you to be part of that journey which will provide you with an excellent opportunity to show us your skills as well as learn from our team.

Key Requirements

• Application or Web development
• PHP programming language
• Procedural PHP over OOP
• SQL database usage
• SQL database administration
• Aptitude for Business processes
• Analytical
• Ability to interact with different people and departments
• Show initiative, self-drive and a desire to bring tasks to completion
• Willingness to occasionally work outside normal working hours to support maintenance or development projects

Desirable skills

• Another programming language, preferably VB6 or VB net
• Current Windows OS
• Network (TCP/IP) and standard network protocols: DNS, DHCP, HTTP(S), FTP, WLAN, etc.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel)
• Microsoft IIS
• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
