Responsibilities for Buyer:

 

  • Delivering consistent and professional Procurement services to internal customers.
  • Delivering value (including bottom line savings) on an ongoing basis, meeting specific in-year targets whilst proactively looking for new opportunities.
  • Engaging with internal Stakeholders to understand the requirement and support in delivering Procurement solutions that match these.
  • Tender sub contract delivery requirements on new contract opportunities and renewals.
  • Adjudicate incoming tenders
  • Process and issue sub contract and supplier orders
  • Develop preferred supplier arrangements
  • Attend meetings with suppliers
  • Managing suppliers who deliver services that are specific to the Business and sourcing new suppliers who are best able to meet the needs of the Business; ensuring best value, fitness for purpose, risk reduction and a quality service to the end customer.
  • Identify opportunities to deliver value and manage the successful delivery and transparent reporting of deliverables.
  • Identifying innovation for delivery to our end customers.
  • Streamlining procurement processes and procedures.

Requirements for Buyer:

  • Experience of similar multi stakeholder organisations/roles
  • Suitable procurement, commercial and or financial / accounting or QS experience within a similar industry sector
  • Educated to degree/ diploma level / CIPS (or working towards) in either Procurement, Business, Law, Surveying, Accounting
  • Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial / contracts.
  • Good at Networking, Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills, Data Analysis.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to tailor approach based on the audience
  • Financial acumen with an ability to analyse data and documentation with accuracy
  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a procurement / commercial environment
  • PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel
