Catering Assistant (Bank)

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Catering Team based at Glasshouse College

CATERING ASSISTANT

£15,174.33 – £17,463.20 pro rata, per annum

£8.32 - £9.57 per hour including holiday pay

Hourly Paid / Zero Hour Contract

Based at Glasshouse College, Amblecote, Stourbridge

We are seeking to appoint an additional staff member to work as part of the catering team, ideally you will have experience of working in a catering environment and able to manage and prioritise a varied workload. A Food Hygiene certificate would be advantageous, however, full training will be provided.

Experience of working with vulnerable young people with learning disabilities would be an advantage, as you will be required to work with students under the supervision of the Catering Manager / Hospitality and Catering Manager.

Main Duties to include:

• Preparation of food and simple cooking;
• Cleaning of food areas, including the kitchen, its surrounds and equipment;
• The serving of meals ensuring presentation is to the required standard;
• To ensure food hygiene and health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times;
• Handling money

  The successful candidate must have excellent customer service skills, be personal and friendly and willing to learn and develop. An interactive induction is provided with the opportunity to try out crafts and the student experience.
