ARGENT COLLEGE
This is an exciting and innovative project run by Ruskin Mill Trust, to provide an educational and community resource right in the heart of Birmingham. The New Standard Works, which houses Argent College, is a Grade II Listed building on Vittoria Street in the Jewellery Quarter.
Argent College offers a diverse and exciting practical curriculum in which work education and vocation are linked in a continuum, to provide relevant and meaningful therapeutic learning experiences.
TUTOR, CATERING
£20,029 – £29,990.00 pro rata, per annum
40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year (Term Time Only)
Based at Argent College, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham
We are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, professional to deliver high quality catering tuition to groups of students of mixed abilities whilst preparing meals for staff and students at the college site.
Applicants must have experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and/ or learning disabilities and have experience of teaching / training catering.
Applicants for tutoring posts must hold a teaching qualification or be working towards a relevant teaching qualification.
Main Duties
- To plan and deliver catering sessions to a small group of students according to their individual learning needs and requirements whilst preparing food for staff and students at the college site.
- To embed communication, word and number into all catering sessions with students.
- To be a part of ongoing assessment of students learning needs and to make reasonable adjustments as required minimising barriers to learning and achievement.
- The post holder will be expected to deliver high quality practical skills, teaching and training to students within the agreed Quality Assurance framework of the Trust.
- To be responsible for delivering teaching and training with a therapeutic and supportive approach, wherever possible linking students learning activities into processes that the Trust refer to as Practical Skills Therapeutic Education.
