Location – Leeds (LS15)

Salary – to £45,000 + 10% bonus

An exciting opportunity for a strong experienced IA (Internal Auditor) or more junior IA currently working towards their IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) qualification. Our team of professional Internal Auditors have the fortune of being provided with a good level of autonomy and variety as they support the business and our stakeholders by conducting cradle to grave risk-based auditing. Your portfolio of internal stakeholders will include a wide array of functions, everything from operational to central functions.

Here at NGN your efforts will play a key contribution to our business and customers. Working closely with our teams across the network, you will be able to really influence and support the business, helping our managers to identify and implement risk base controls, offer advice and support with the businesses risk register.

The Role:

Working within a small team, you will be responsible for:

  • The timely completion of audit reviews using different approaches and risk based methodologies including system based audit, analytical review, collation and review and substantive and compliance testing;
  • Where applicable agreeing, negotiating and adapting the scope of audit;
  • Preparing the draft and final audit reports for circulation;
  • Discussing with management all audit findings, recommendations and suggested solutions together with realistic implementation timescales;
  • Managing effective relationships in order to fully manage and meet expectations;
  • Working with integrity, objectivity and confidentiality;
  • Assisting with any investigations as required either as part of an audit or as required by the Head of Internal Audit;
  • Assist the Head of Internal Audit in ensuring all activities and controls are properly recorded and evidenced;
  • Ensure all audits undertaken comply with best practice, legislation and regulatory requirements.

The Candidate:

If you’re applying for role you should:

  • Be an excellent communicator and able to liaise, influence and negotiate at all levels of the organisation;
  • Be detail conscious, professional and flexible;
  • Have strong commercial acumen;
  • Have appropriate/relevant qualification(s) – Accountancy or Internal Audit qualifications;
  • MUST - Have previous internal audit experience and is able to work with minimal supervision.

What we offer

  • To £45,000 (Dependent upon experience)
  • 40 hrs per week
  • Up to 10% bonus (dependent upon achievement of set targets)
