Learning and Development Training Instructors

Exciting opportunity to join our excellent Learning and Development team in Reading.

As an effective communicator who understands how people learn you will work closely with Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service colleagues to devise and deliver theoretical and practical instruction to our staff in a range of operational training areas. 

With strong interpersonal skills and the commitment to help us continually improve our service to the communities of Royal Berkshire, you will support the essential development and administration of Incident Command training; develop scenarios, training exercises and assessments.

You will have experience of teaching others and the ability to design training resources, as well as a knowledge of learning and development best practice. Previous experience in an emergency service and operational firefighting skills are desirable although not essential.

We want to recruit, retain and develop people who are dedicated to delivering a safe, professional and efficient service to the public 24/7, 365 days a year.

Based at Training Centre, Whitley Wood, Reading with travel to other locations around Berkshire, the post will provide you the opportunity to work as part of a great team and a professional and capable working community. You will also have the opportunity to gain a Teaching Qualification Award in Education and Training (AET).

 

Benefits Salary £26,317 - £30,507 pro-rata and generous leave allowance of 27 days (plus bank holidays) pro rata for part time. Part-time and flexible working arrangements encouraged. Full time-time hours (37) also considered. Post initially for 12 months.
