Procurement Specialist 37 hours per week £32,029 to £36,876 per annum Grade 5
Based in Calcot, Reading.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our Finance and Procurement department. The post of Procurement Specialist will be part of a dynamic team delivering efficient procurement projects for all areas of the business. Effective procurement is a key component in enabling Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) to deliver its vital service to the public.
We are looking for someone with a wide knowledge of procurement processes and regulations, a can-do attitude and a willingness to ‘own’ solutions along with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.
In return RBFRS offers flexible working arrangements to help manage work-life balance, a generous holiday allowance and personal benefits, including childcare vouchers, on-site gym facilities and an excellent pension scheme. There is also free parking on site.
Key focus of the Role:
The Procurement Specialist will be a key point of contact for senior managers within the organisation in relation to procurement, contract management and supplier related issues. The post-holder will be responsible for providing relevant compliant and pragmatic advice in accordance with RBFRS Contract Regulations, UK and relevant EU Legislation and central government guidelines and best practice.
Key Role Requirements
On a day-to-day basis, the post-holder will deliver high value, business critical procurements and will be responsible for the full end-to-end delivery of tendering activity. It is important, therefore, that the post-holder works with stakeholders to identify the most suitable procurement strategies for spend categories including specialist, niche and construction contracts.
