Inspection Engineer
Monday to Friday 0900 - 1700 hours plus overtime and weekends
£21,000 per annum
Our Client
Our client is a small, but growing Company based in South Marston, Swindon. The Company supplies critical non-destructive inspection services of equipment plant and machinery to clients in the food, drink, power, oil, energy and general engineering sectors.
Clients require a fast and prompt response when they have problems.
The candidate will receive on the job training and will be required to gain National / Internationally recognized inspection and safety qualifications.
The ideal Candidate
Duties include:
- Attend client’s sites to carry out inspection
- Follow instructions and test procedures
- Set up equipment in accordance with our inspection procedures at client’s premises
- Discuss findings and results with client
- Following and abiding Health and Safety standards through proficient use of risk and method statements
- Preparing reports and certificates detailing results and findings
- Help maintain inspection equipment and carry out calibration checks
- General housekeeping, cleaning of vehicles and equipment
Person specification
A conscientious, responsible, proactive, very reliable individual with good timekeeping and a can-do attitude for this permanent position.
- Must be able to work on their own, as well as a good team player.
- Our clients in the food and drink industry require a high level of cleanliness therefore a high standard of personal hygiene.
- This is a physically demanding role with some of the inspection and access equipment in excess of 25kg.
- Ability to work at height, climb ladders, scaffold and access platforms.
- There is restricted access to some of the items we examine therefore the ability to work in confined spaces essential.
- The role requires a willingness to work flexible hours with weekend, evenings and some night shifts. Some of our projects requires periods of time up to two weeks away from our Swindon office.
Essential:
- At least 2 A-Levels, and GCSE grade A-C in Math’s and English
- A clean driving licence
- Current Passport
- Good communication skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
