Two way Communication Radio Technician

 £13.50 per hour  

25 hours minimum per week 

 

The Company

Light of Night are a small constantly growing B2B Two Way Radio Communication Company based in Edmonton, London. We are looking for an experienced Two Way Communication Radio Technician to join this small growing team.  Duties include providing technical support, delivery and collection of equipment to other businesses.  The work is extremely varied and would also involve working in the warehouse, office administration and some direct sales. The hours will be on a rotating shift pattern (involving late evenings and weekend / bank holiday work.

Main responsibilities 

  • Programming, installing and repairing two way radio equipment for delivery
  • Delivering and collecting goods from the warehouse and from customers
  • Loading and unloading the company vehicle 
  • Preparation of equipment for dispatch
  • Planning the route for deliveries
  • Obtaining signatures and delivering notes when you deliver/collect/sell goods
  • Assisting in the warehouse as and when required
  • Direct sales by telephone and in person 
  • General office administrative duties
  • Respond to customers technical queries on the telephone and via email
  • Assist with any office duties that the office manager may require you to assist with

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Electronic and or two way radio system experience:  3 years – preferred 
  • Good knowledge of electronics and  two way radio systems
  • Knowledge of Motorola and/or Hytera communication equipment  is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of repeaters and their installation is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Super organised
  • Right personality – positive, likeable, good sense of humour, builds relationships easily
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Computer Literate –Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Honest and Trustworthy
  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Experience of driving a 3.5 tonne long base vehicle would be an advantage
  • Be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads (up to 20kg)
  • Flexible with working hours as daily finish times may be extended to complete deliveries
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service at all times
  • No previous delivery/collection/sale experience required but this would be an advantage


Salary & Benefits
 

  • £13.50 per hour
  • 20 days holiday  plus 8 normal public bank holidays
