Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary of c.£25,000 - £27,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience) 
  • 25 days holiday entitlement, increasing by 1 day each year up to a maximum of 27 days plus 8 statutory bank holidays.

The role of Commercial Coordinator:

This is a wide-ranging role within the BCC commercial team, supporting the team and the wider BCC events function, in addition to project support linked to the BCC’s affinity services offering.

Specifically, this will cover:

Providing administrative support for BCC’s National Events.

Currently the BCC runs three national events;

  • The BCC Annual Conference –the UK’s leading business to politics conference
  • The Chamber Business Awards – high profile awards recognising the best of British business
  • The BCC International Trade Summit – a major national event for the UK export community 

For these national events, the Commercial Co-ordinator will work across teams in the BCC.

Project support for the BCC’s affinity services.

The BCC operates a portfolio of business services for the benefit of Chamber members

The Commercial Co-ordinator will support the delivery of these services by providing project support and relationship management with both partner organisations and Chambers of Commerce.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Researching speakers for BCC’s national events
  • Working across the BCC’s matrix structure - marketing, commercial, policy, press and public affairs - on relevant content initiatives in relation to the BCC’s flagship events
  • Building a database of potential speakers for BCC national conferences
  • Researching national press, and other conferences, to identify thought leaders that the BCC could approach to engage in its activities
  • Providing project support to deliver new affinity partnerships
  • Work with current affinity partners to ensure the service provision remains market leading and meets the needs of the Chamber network
  • Act as the point contact for any support Chambers of Commerce may need in delivering the affinity services

You will report to the Head of Affinity Partnerships and will be working closely with the Director of Business Development.

The BCC operates as a small team and the post holder will work with individuals across the organisation particularly in our policy, commercial, press, public affairs, marketing and PR teams.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Commercial astute
  • Experience in partnership working and operating in complex stakeholder environments 
  • Experience of working with CMS systems desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
  • A confident self starter, with the ability to work across teams within a small, dynamic organisation

 Computer literacy skills:

  • Microsoft proficiency: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • In-house CRM system (desirable)

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
