Amberley Museum is dedicated to showcasing and preserving the industrial heritage of the South with a vast range of outdoor and indoor exhibits on its 36 acre site in a chalk quarry in the South Downs National Park. A registered charity founded 40 years ago, the Museum is located next to Amberley railway station near Arundel and close to major access roads in West Sussex. Amberley Museum is looking to recruit an Education Services Officer, who will work within a small team and report to the Visitor Experience Manager.

The post holder will deliver cross curricular programmes and experiences, ensuring the museum acts as a learning resource for pre- and school age children, as well as wider groups.  In addition, the successful candidate will develop workshops, talks and experiences using exhibitions and artefacts within Amberley museum to create and implement an annual calendar of educational events and activities.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with schools and other groups, with knowledge of current curriculum/key stage requirements or hands on experience of delivering other educational activities.

With word processing, spreadsheet and database management capabilities you will have the ability to work independently, show initiative and be self-motivated. Some experience of managing budgets and marketing is desirable, while previous experience in the heritage/attraction sector would be an advantage.
