Job Summary

As part of a large acquisition and continued growth we are looking to recruit a Key Account Business Development Manager covering our Automotive customers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive and growing business looking to attract fresh talent. The role will require excellent communication skills and the ability to build solid working relationships both internally and externally. To achieve this, you must be a motivated self-starter, you'll have a customer first mind-set and have the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. You'll have an analytical skill set and demonstrate excellent commercial and project management skills. This is an opportunity to be creative and dynamic, the scope of the role will not limit your potential to influence the success of the business and your personal career development.

Although we are an Automotive Business, during this period of growth and re-organisation we are keen to consider candidates from out of the Industry who possess the key Sales and Business Development skills we are looking for,  as we are want a fresh approach to continue the businesses exciting plans for growth.

Company Description

Arlington Industries Group Ltd is a UK based company which provides specialist, full-service supply chain integration to global OEM’s in the automotive, industrial and household sectors. With global manufacturing facilities located in France, Turkey, Germany, China, Brazil and the USA as well as several locations in the UK.

We are a Tier One supplier to JLR, Ford, BMW, Renault Nissan and Daimler to name just a few.

Following a further business acquisition we have established two divisions under the Automotive side of the business: Arlington Thermal Management – Incorporating the Whaler, Magal and Dauphinoise Thomson brand we provide solutions to control the movement of air, oil and water around a vehicle in combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles and Arlington Engineered Systems – Providing electrification, fluid and air, mechanical, interior and aftermarket products. Through our in-house capabilities we can offer complete vertically integrated supply chain solutions for manufacturing and module assemblies.

Strategy and Development

  • Key: Confidently and professionally manage an existing client portfolio
  • Key: Work closely with relevant stakeholders to identify and win new business with targeted prospects in the Automotive sector
  • Key: Develop new business and commercial strategies for producers of electric vehicles and drivetrains, as a key target market for the business moving forward
  • Key: Provide excellent Account Management for a selection of established key accounts and develop and nurture the be relationship to secure new business.
  • Proactively identifying new market opportunities for business expansion, not limited to Automotive OEM customers
  • Lead and take full accountability for new business opportunities as assigned, working closely with the bid team to submit high quality commercially relevant, winning customer bids.
  • Contribute to the growth and maintenance of company profit margins

General and Task Management:

  • Control the day-to-day commercial responsibilities and activities of customers to include communication across all areas and functions which would include Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering and Quality
  • Complete customer quotations as agreed after internal RFE process and senior management review
  • Maintain customer accounts with regard to commercial standards and systems including AITF16949
  • Develop and prepare customer specific presentations and deliver these to a high standard
  • Lead and support negotiations with the customers at all levels to ensure a win-win outcome
  • Develop and secure requests for appropriate product/programme quotations from identified customers
  • Provide product specific knowledge to identify new business opportunities
  • Visualise, plan and lead specific market campaigns to support the prospect and network activity for new opportunities and represent the business at any event or exhibition.
  • Establish and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders, organisations, potential new business, and other outside bodies to maintain and improve Arlington's image and commercial position
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, reporting back both positive and negative opinion
  • Obtain and process purchase orders for production and sample phases of supply along with the relevant tooling and capital orders
  • Report on sales activities on a regular basis to the Director of Sales and Development, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators
  • Available to travel to all UK based facilities as well as occasional European and International locations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance and enable growth
  • Be a team player with strong communication skills to be able to engage with all levels of staff

Qualifications and Experience Levels and Desirable skills

The following is a wish list, however, if you have a passion for Sales and Business Development but don’t have all of the following, we would still like to hear from you. We are open to looking for excellent transferrable skills from other industries

  • Must have a full driving license
  • Able to communicate both written and verbally in English (German or French would also be an advantage)
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent business qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in Key Account Management, Sales Management and new business
  • Proven track record of new business success in a similar role, ideally in the automotive, off highway, manufacturing or leisure vehicle market
  • Recognised Manager with general management, leadership and change management skills
  • High level of commercial acumen with the ability to develop sound commercially driven business solutions
  • Demonstrable background of developing sales plans and delivering on them
  • Knowledge of customer processes and cost presentation/analysis systems
  • Track record of managing and working with stakeholders involved in the sales process
  • Ability to work to demanding targets and deadlines while maintaining a high degree of focus
  • Be an extremely positive and professional individual who sees challenges as opportunities and have the ability to motivate and lead by example
  • Energy and enthusiasm for looking at new ways of overcoming challenges
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and deliver results
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to deliver consistent win-win solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
  • Experienced in Performance Management Processes
  • Have strong understanding and experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
