Purchase Ledger Clerk – Shrewsbury – Contract (12 Months)

We are now recruiting with a well-established and respected, Shrewsbury based concern for a new Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant to cover a 12-month contract.  This position will suit an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk wanting to work in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Reporting into the Finance Team Supervisor, you’ll  be working within a small team environment locally as well as colleagues abroad.

Due to the nature of the contract, the company is looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger clerk who is available at short notice.

Duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Purchase ledger
  • Matching delivery notes to invoices
  • Processing invoices
  • Dealing with supplier and customer queries
  • Cash allocation
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Refunds

To be considered for this excellent position, you must have worked in a similar Purchase Ledger role previously, be happy working in a small team environment, be IT literate (Ms Office and in particular Ms Excel), have excellent communication skills and ideally be available at short notice.

You will ideally be AAT or equivalent qualified.

The salary is DOE and the role comes with an excellent package including up to 35 days a year holiday (after 2 years), pension, free parking and generous staff discounts.

Hours of work are 8.30am – 5pm Mon – Thurs, 8.30am – 4pm Fri.

The site is commutable from Telford, Shrewsbury, Market Drayton, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Newport, Walsall, Stafford etc but own transport is essential.

Alternative job titles could include Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Credit Controller, AAT Qualified, Purchase Ledger Clerk, Credit Controller etc
