Membership Communications Officer based  London (St James Park) offering a salary of £28,000 to £32,000 (depending on skills and experience) - pro-rata if on a part time basis.

Benefits:

  • 25 days holiday entitlement, increasing by 1 day each year up to a maximum of 27 days plus 8 statutory bank holidays.

The role of Membership Communications Officer:

As part of a multi-discipline communications team you will be required to create compelling content, which engages our network in a range of activity from our Governance meetings, Annual Conference and our campaign activity, with the ability to promote across the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) network.

You will use primarily digital communications to ensure that the right people are engaged and informed about the right things at the right time through careful planning and delivery across a range of channels.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a good understanding of the BCC network
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate your work in a timely manner in order to communicate effectively across the BCC network
  • Build key relationships across the network by keeping them engaged and informed
  • Create compelling communications inc. copywriting and editing
  • Develop creative ideas for how to engage our network
  • Liaison with external providers in the creation and coordination a range of communications
  • Any other duties as required within the scope of the role

Person Specification​:

  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A flare for creative writing skill and ability to adapt your style to different audiences and channels
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience of working in a membership organisation an advantage

Computer literacy skills:

  • Microsoft proficiency: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • In-house CRM system
  • E-marketing software
  • Photoshop

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week or agreed part time hours within a job share arrangement.
