Medical Equipment Technician

Core Medical Solutions is a growing Private Medical Company providing treatment in hospitals on behalf of the NHS, Private Hospitals and Clinics. Using Shockwave Technology called Lithotripsy, we eliminate Kidney Stones and treat Orthopedic Conditions such as Achilles Tendonitis, Bursitis, Plantar Fasciitis and Peyronies Disease. We strive to be best in class for shock wave therapy treatments and rely on our staff to deliver high levels of professionalism.

We currently have a vacancy for a Medical Equipment Technician on an Annualised Contract to facilitate the care and delivery of Medical Equipment to our contracted hospitals in and around the Midlands and East Anglia regions.  The vehicle will be based in the West Anglia region, therefore the ideal candidate will need to reside within a reasonable, commutable distance due to the early starts required.

Whilst the role is predominantly to transport equipment, the successful candidate will also be required to act as an assistant by supporting the Lead Radiographer during Clinics. This involves producing required paperwork by means of electronic form and printer and facilitating general housekeeping duties between patients, along with basic care and maintenance of the medical equipment (e.g. cleaning, sterilising and ensuring it is kept secure and at the correct temperature whilst stored in our insulated and heated vehicle).

The Medical Equipment Technician will be responsible for dealing with a range of complex situations and tasks and providing a high-quality standard of care, delivery, set up and clear down of sensitive medical equipment and machinery.

Experience of driving with navigation apps and having an awareness of Health and Safety is important as the Medical Equipment Technician will be required to transport equipment in long wheel base vans and use industrial tail lifts to load and unload apparatus. This role also includes responsibility of performing regular vehicle checks and facilitating maintenance of the vehicle, to ensure it is kept roadworthy.

To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the technical elements of machinery, be organised and have good communication skills. Experience of working within the healthcare industry would be a distinct advantage although not essential.

This role may require a number of hours of driving and some overnight stays. Where possible we encourage our Medical Equipment Technician and Radiographer to travel together in the vehicle in line with our environmental policy and to reduce our carbon footprint.

Due to the nature of the role, the hours cannot be fixed each week. The work pattern will ideally be on a rota basis, for example 3 days on week one and 4 days on week two, which would average out around 37 hours per week over the course of a year.
