This is an exciting and innovative college run by Ruskin Mill Trust, which is a leading independent provider of specialist care and education for young people and adults with learning and complex needs. Situated right in the heart of Birmingham, The New Standard Works, which houses Argent College, is a Grade II Listed building on Vittoria Street in the Jewellery Quarter.

are linked in a continuum, to provide relevant and meaningful therapeutic learning experiences.

 

DAY TIME SUPPORT WORKER

40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year

£14,947 – £19,443 pro rata, per annum

(pro-rata term time only £12,136 - £15,776)

starting salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience

Based at Argent College, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham

The post holder will be required to promote and ensure the safety, care and well-being, learning and development of the students to enable their growth in confidence and social and practical skills.

The key duties in this role will include:

  • The supervision and support of students throughout the college day, both in sessions and free time;
  • To encourage students to attend planned sessions and to help them become engaged in the curriculum activities;
  • Completion of relevant paperwork as required;
  • To support College safeguarding procedures by reporting quickly and effectively any disclosures to the College Safeguarding Team.

To undertake this position successfully, you will have:

  • Knowledge of specialist education;
  • Experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and / or learning disabilities and challenging behaviour;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
