Do you have…. a passion for coloration and textiles? … A love of learning and development? Degree- level knowledge of coloration chemistry?

Are you looking for…. the autonomy to make a real difference in a diverse, global, professional charity organisation, …a flexible working environment… great benefits including 33 days holiday (including bank hols) per year?

If so, read on!

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Society of Dyers and Colourists, the world’s leading independent, educational charity dedicated to advancing the science and technology of colour worldwide. As a professional, chartered society and a global organisation, we’ve been representing our members and industry for over 135 years. With education at the heart of our strategy, we’re now looking to recruit an Education Officer to help us to further focus on our higher level education provision.

This is a fantastic diverse role for someone who will thrive on the exposure and accountability that working in a small team will provide. Reporting to the Technical Director and working closely with the Education Manager and Technical team, you will be instrumental in developing the strategy and plan to implement our higher education programme in line with our Business Plan objectives and targets. This will primarily centre around developing the content and approach for a Degree-level equivalent course that has been in place for over 50 years.

Engaging with a wide ranging network of internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and develop our course syllabus, content and course work, you will focus on continuous improvements to ensure all aspects of the programme are of the highest quality and standards. This will include developing and maintaining the course outline and appointing external writers and examiners to deliver to both schedule and budget.

You’ll also use your creative skills to develop the brand proposition of the programme with our marketing and technical functions, as a brand ambassador, raising awareness and engagement with the programme across global industries.

The role will suit someone with Degree level knowledge of coloration chemistry and processes with an understanding of digital communications and strong IT literacy, comfortable with new technologies. You will also be extremely well organised, a self-starter and confident presenter with a great eye for detail.

You, yourself will have a passion for learning, and developing your own knowledge and skills and it would be desirable, though not essential for you to have experience of education systems and processes.
