Clervaux Café and Bakery - Ruskin Mill Trust

Applications are invited for the following post that will be based at Clervaux Café and Bakery in Darlington

Chef

40 hours, 52 weeks – 5 days a week

Grade 4-5 – Salary for 40 hours: £16,350 - £19,443

The Chef will be responsible for all areas of daily service in our café, the applicant will be expected to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients which are predominantly produced on our bio-dynamic farm site at Croft-on-Tees and will be expected to liaise with the land team when planning their menu, ensuring the menu is kept in line with our Nutrition Policy. The chef will also be responsible for all aspects of food safety in the café and be expected to keep appropriate records, in conjunction with the Café Manager.

Clervaux Trust supports children and young people with learning difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. Using the café as a social enterprise the chef will work with the café team to support our students develop their confidence, communication and social skills.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking to work within a dynamic team to support children and young people within the café and to use their creativity and flair to prepare and cook high quality, fresh produce into delicious nutritious dishes.

The post holder will be expected to travel on an occasional basis (predominantly for training) between the Trust’s sites, and to and from other places as the Trust may reasonably require.

Hours of work will predominantly be Tuesday – Saturday 07:30 – 16:00, although there may occasion where additional hours or evening work may be required.
