Signal Group is the leading UK manufacturer of gas analysers, systems and accessories for monitoring emissions to air.  We develop and manufacture gas analysers for the professional testing of VOCs, vehicle and engine emissions, tobacco smoke, impurities in special gases, power station emissions, catalyst efficiency, and boiler/burner combustion emissions.

We currently have a vacancy for a Purchasing Assistant to join our busy team in our Camberley office.

The role involves managing a portfolio of suppliers and working with them to ensure that products are available and expedited to cover the demand.

The main skills needed for this role are:

  • Manage and implement supply chain improvement initiatives including order entry, minimum order quantities, lead times and freight
  • Liaison with suppliers to ensure up to date information is used and lead times are met
  • Knowledge and proficiency in MRP systems and responsible for keeping it updated with current pricing information and delivery dates
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes and best practice
  • Analytical approach
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality of work
  • Proactive and flexible approach to task management
  • IT literate (MS packages)

To be considered for this excellent opportunity, you will have, at least, 1-2 years’ of purchasing experience already.  You will ideally be CIPS qualified (or studying toward) and educated to a minimum of A level standard.  If not CIPS qualified, we will support studying towards this qualification.
