Due to our success, popularity and determination to provide an outstanding service, we are now looking to recruit a Valeter, with someone that shares our passion and enthusiasm.

Job Purpose:

Here at the SL Shop we have a long history of servicing and restoring classic Mercedes-Benz models, and have a reputation for excellence across all aspects of the business.

Your role will be to valet and prepare cars on request. The breadth of the business means cars will be prepared for different reasons - some are destined for the showroom, some will be customer cars that require preparation before handover after work is completed, some will be hire cars returning from weekend adventures at the hands of clients, others will be cars heading to national and international classic
car shows.

We are looking for someone passionate about classic cars, with an eye for detail and a commitment to presentation. You will be experienced in preparing classic cars to a high standard, and bring your own techniques and style with you.

You will be comfortable working to a superb standard in a fast paced environment, for a forward thinking and expanding classic car company.

There is no age barrier to this business. Whether you are young and enthusiastic with experience, or have a head full of grey hair earned from decades spent polishing cars of all shapes and sizes, then we would love to hear from you.

Statements of accountability:

Take charge of preparing cars to the required standard, no matter what the car is destined for

• Work quickly and efficiently and cooperate with the workshop to ensure cars flow through the different areas of the business as they should
• Liase with relevant managers for the workshop, hire and sales sides of the business to ensure cars for all areas are catered for
• Help to plan your workload in accordance with the needs of the workshop, sales and hire business
• Bring your own experience to the table
• Prove that you are a cut above the rest, dazzle us with your presentation and settle for nothing but the very best when finishing a vehicle

Knowledge and skills:

• Experience of cleaning, valeting and preparing cars (ideally classic cars) to a high standard
• Genuine interest in classic cars
• Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, able to work under pressure and ‘think on your feet’ whilst not compromising quality of work
• Can work under pressure to achieve deadlines whilst ensuring quality is not compromised
