Electrical Maintenance Engineer (3 shifts incl nights) offering a basic salary of up to £35,000 plus a generous pension scheme, life insurance, childcare voucher and cycle to work schemes.

 

The role involves working a rotating three shift system:

  • 6am to 2pm,
  • 2pm to 10pm
  • 10pm to 6am.
  • The ability to work overtime including weekends is also essential.

 

The Engineering department within the Bolton manufacturing facility currently has an exciting opportunity for someone to join them as a Shift Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias).

The purpose of this challenging role is to be responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance of plant and equipment at Vernacare's Bolton site and to assist in conjunction with others, the optimisation of the manufacturing process of pulp moulded products to the standards of service and quality required by the Company and its customers.

 

The following are essential:

  • A formal apprenticeship served
  • A good working knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems including Inverters, PLC’s, Motors, Conveyors, Pumps, Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Electrical and Mechanical fault finding skills are essential
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Regulations
  • NVQ level 3 and City & Guilds qualification in Electro- Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual who will adopt a ‘right first time’ approach to all job tasks and take ownership of improvement projects within the job role.  Ideally you will possess a continuous improvement mind-set and participate actively in the achievement of personal, departmental and company goals and objectives.  You will possess leadership skills to mentor and motivate others. Good communication skills are essential, including written, verbal and PC based.
