Ruskin Mill Trust operates nine provisions that provide innovative and experimental education for young people with special learning needs, developed out of inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin.

 

Applications are invited for the following post that will be based within Freeman College (Ruskin Mill Trust) based in Sheffield

Equality & Diversity Advisor

24 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Grade 7:8 – £13,176 to £18,603 dependent on qualifications and experience.

(FTE £21,961 to £26,577)

To work in conjunction with the Senior Management Teams to raise awareness, promote and embed Equality and Diversity along with Ruskin Mill Trust’s Festivals within Freeman College, Brantwood Specialist School and Clervaux Trust.

 

 

To work with colleagues across the Trust as appropriate and required to ensure that the promotion and embedding of Equality and Diversity and Festivals is aligned and consistent across the Trust’s operations.

The criteria required to undertake this position successfully include:

To act as a conduit for communication and implementation within the college and school on matters related to equality and diversity and festivals that promotes the Trust’s methods.

  • To work with the HEaRT Team and Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) Development Lead to raise awareness of and embed the festivals that are associated with the methods of the Trust.
  • To work with the staff and student to plan and implement a calendar of events and festivals to promote Equality and Diversity and Festivals.
  •  To work as part of an equality and diversity cross organisational working group to regularly review, plan, and implement the Trust’s strategy for equality and diversity and to share good practice. 
  • To work with the Safeguarding Manager to promote and support the work of the Prevent Duty.
  • To ensure that all information obtained relating to equality and diversity issues is handled      sensitively and complies with General Data Protection Regulations.
  • To create, update and deliver Equality and Diversity Training to staff at all sites in conjunction with the department of human resources.
  • To maintain a high profile as the recognised point of contact available to all staff, students and members of the public wishing to raise concerns or seek help and guidance on any questions connected with equality and diversity.   Where necessary reporting direct to the equality and diversity cross organisational working team including the College Principal and the RMT Head of Human Resources as appropriate.
