Job Details

Meadows Care is a residential care service that provides care, education and therapy to young people (aged 9-18). We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our multi-disciplinary therapy team consisting of clinical and counselling psychologists, CBT and EMDR therapists, art therapists and a drama therapist.

The role of the family therapist/systemic psychological therapist will be to provide specialist family systemic assessment, formulation and therapeutic interventions to young people and their families. You will work in collaboration with other members of the therapy service to develop meaningful formulations and intervention plans which are driven by an understanding of developmental/relational trauma and attachment. The post holder would be expected to work closely with the young person’s therapy case-manager, residential manager and social worker to ensure a wrap-around service for the young person; which at times may include supporting reunification with the family system.

A full-time member would also have the opportunity to develop systemic practice as part of the wider Meadows service supporting consistent trauma-informed care in-line with Meadows model of care; M-ARC.

Experience of working with children who are in placed in the Care system is desirable but not essential. We are looking for someone who has a strong awareness of developmental/relational trauma and has previous experience of working within a dynamic environment providing assessment and interventions for people presenting with complex mental health and/or social care needs.

Essential Criteria

  • Professional qualification in Social Work, Nursing, or Allied Health Profession and postgraduate level qualification in Family/Systemic Psychotherapy or DClinPsych with experience/additional training in family interventions (e.g. DDP).
  • Registered by a Governing body (UKCP, AFT, HCPC)
