Brantwood Specialist School

Brantwood Specialist School is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ruskin Mill Trust and will offer a unique, holistic and student-centred approach to the education and care of 7-19 year olds, specialising in students who are on the Autistic spectrum and who have not succeeded in mainstream provision.  The school will provide an educational experience based on the National and Steiner Waldorf Curriculum, embedding the practical skills therapeutic educational curriculum with accredited qualifications. Applications are invited for the following post, based at Brantwood Specialist School, Sheffield.

 

Senior Residential Support Worker

 

Grade 5:6 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary Range £19,143 to £20,643 including a market supplement

plus £70.50 sleepover

Commencing salary is subject to qualifications and experience.

Applications are invited for the above post to work flexible hours during a 40 hour week, based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This post involves working primarily during the evenings and weekends, including sleepovers, on a rota basis.

The successful applicant will:

  • Supervise a team of Residential Support Workers to implement the daily operational needs of a safe residential house whilst ensuring there is a high quality of care in a homely environment and appropriate levels of supervision for the young people in residence.
  • Input into the preparation and implementation of care plans of the service users and their progress reports, keeping accurate and high quality records.
  • To be line manager for a number of Residential Support Workers, providing induction, training and formal supervision for residential support workers in their team

A NVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent qualifications and a supervisory/ team leading qualification and experience of first line management is desirable.
