Biodynamic Landworker – Eyam

40 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Grade 4:5; Salary £16,350 to £19,443

The responsibilities and purpose of the role are:

To support the day-to-day running of horticulture of the Eyam farm, to support the animal husbandry, amenity and landscaping activities and to organise and give guidance to appropriate work for students, staff and volunteers, using biodynamic agriculture principles and methodology and following all current Health and Safety regulations.

To role model the interaction with nature, the garden, the animals, the farm, students, staff and parents.

To prepare the garden as an educational facility and projects in a functioning market garden for and in collaboration with the teachers and teaching assistants.

To embed and disseminate an understanding of biodynamic practice and culture into all areas of the school through staff training workshops, Practical Skills in Therapeutic Education (PSTE) and leadership in this area.

The requirements of the role are:

  • Fully trained in Biodynamic Agriculture
  • Experience of the working in line with the seasonal cycles and the biodynamic calendar
  • Experience of working with young people with learning disabilities and who may be less likely to engage with mainstream educational approaches
  • Experience of managing a diverse workload and meeting strict deadlines

You should hold a driving licence as you will be required to drive from site to site within the Sheffield area.
