Fleet Maintenance Cost Controller - £30,000 a year - Full time, Permanent

Telford, Shropshire

As the Maintenance Controller you will be responsible for operating the Ruskim Fleet in line with the transport operation. Your main duties will be to minimise vehicle downtime, manage the maintenance of the fleet in the most cost-effective manner for the life of the vehicle and ensure compliance to current legislation. You will be expected to liaise with Ruskim’s network of external suppliers, internal staff and management team to support the operation and exercise strict cost control.

You will be required to develop a good working relationship with current repair agents and will be expected to develop this database further. Any existing warranties will need to be maintained and the relevant policies and procedures followed. In addition to this maintenance schedules will need to be maintained and adhered to with accurate information passed to the relevant depot. Reports will need to be generated and distributed to senior management and board level as required.

The role will require the successful candidate to be able to show initiative and ability to work alone and as part of the transport team in Telford.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be professional at all times with a positive attitude towards the role. A background in engineering and commercial vehicles would be extremely advantageous and knowledge of mechanical operations and HGV / LCV repair methods essential.
